Basilica of St John

Visit of the Church –the burial ground ,the SKOPHYLAKİON
(the TREASURY) and the Church’s Bapthisterium dating back to 6 th Cent. A.D.
built during the rule of famous Byzantine Emporer Justinian & the Empress
Theodora. The site is undergoing partial – restoration ,and has become
especially popular,after the official visit of Pope John Paul 6.

House and John’s Basilica during Commemorating-celebrations of “Assencion” for
the Chiristian-World.
Museum
The Museum in the town of Selchuk is famed with a wide array
of excavated material from the ancient site of Ephesus nearby.
It’s arranged to be displayed in 5 Exhibition Halls + an
outer Court yard in very clever and neat way. A must for the keen visitors
,who’s come so close to this building duing the visit of Ephesus. An extra
Hallway is spared to the local artists ,

Holly Virgin’s House
The trip to the Holly Virgins House on top of the ancient
Coresus Mountain (present-day Bülbül and /or Nightingale Mount) is winding road
through the Pine-Woods taking you up t oca. 660 ft. Peah,with an overwhelning
wiev down towads the Kaystros (present-day Küçük- Menderes) Valley and the
Delta protruding towards the
Aegean-Coast.Upon arrival to Mary’s House one is taken back to her times
via the simple and marble living quarters with an exotic atmosphere through the
candle-lights lit by the visitors.
Being there,the visitors passes by the Holly –water source,
only one level below the house,where one does not hesitale to sip the three
fawcetts one by one,beleiving the visit is going to be Supported by the old
saying “HEALTH+WEALTH+HAPPİNESS” is now with you.
Back to the parking –lot after short prayers as one passes
by the numerous ribbons and handkerchiefs and alike ,the wishing trees
displaybillboards,encourages you to tie your own,before you head on to viist
Ephesus.
